The U.S. 2020 Census reported that more than half of Native Hawaiians live outside of Hawaiʻi. With various lived experiences of those in the diaspora, whether they were directly displaced or raised elsewhere, many Native Hawaiians feel comforted by the sights and sounds of Hawaiʻi, even if virtual.
Nānā i Hawaiʻi (see/observe/view Hawaiʻi) is a beta collection of public YouTube landscapes and clips of Hawaiʻi curated by Hawaiian Diaspora to help nurture that sense of comfort. This beta version helps us learn what to improve.
